PHYS 1402 General Physics II

The required text is College Physics, 6th ed. by Wilson, Buffa, and Lou (Addison Wesley).

It can be purchased at any bookstore selling ACC books or online. It is available in a single edition which will cover both PHYS 1401 and PHYS 1402 or split into two volumes. Volume 1 is sufficient for PHYS 1401 and volume 2 is sufficient for PHYS 1402. If you plan to take both PHYS 1401 and PHYS 1402 you can buy the larger, single edition at a slight savings over buying volumes 1 and 2 separately. There are available supplements. None are required. Fall, 2009 is the last semester that this will be the text for this course. Beginning in Spring, 2010. The text will be Physics by Giambattista, Richardson, and Richardson.

PHYS 2425 - Engineering Physics I and PHYS 2426 - Engineering Physics II

The required text is Physics for Scientists and Engineers, 6th ed. by Tipler and Mosca (Freeman)

It can be purchased at any bookstore selling ACC books or online. It is available in a single edition which will cover both PHYS 2425 and PHYS 2426 or split into two volumes. Volume 1 is sufficient for PHYS 2425 and volume 2 is sufficient for PHYS 2426. If you plan to take both PHYS 2425 and PHYS 2426 you can buy the larger, single edition at a slight savings over buying volumes 1 and 2 separately. There are available supplements. None are required. The 6th Edition will be used for PHYS 2426 beginning in the Spring, 2008 semester.
