Ride Capital Metro Services For Free!

The Green Pass offers unlimited rides to class, work, and anywhere else on the Capital Metro transit system for one semester.  Green Pass riders must show an ACC ID card upon request.

How to get your Green Pass

  1. Register for credit classes.
  2. Pay your full tuition or set up a payment plan.
  3. If you are new to ACC, claim your ACC email address. ACCmail is required for all ACC official communication.
  4. Get an ACC Student ID card.
  5. Visit the ACC Transportation website. Log in using your ACCeID to request your free Green Pass.
  6. Visit an ACC Cashier Office or Campus Administration Office to show your ACC ID card and collect your Green Pass.

Eligible faculty and staff may obtain a free Green Pass by completing steps 5 and 6 with their ACC Employee ID card.

Green Passes are available to students enrolled in ACC credit classes, Adult Education students, and ACC faculty and staff.  Continuing Education students and hourly employees are not eligible for a Green Pass.

How to use your Green Pass

Use your Green Pass for Capital Metro Fixed Route Service, Express Bus Service, Special Transit Service, and MetroRail services. View the Capital Metro Rider’s Guide for help getting started.

  • Bus riders: Swipe (do not insert) your Green Pass in the fare box and show your ACC ID card while boarding.
  • MetroRail riders: Insert your Green Pass in the ticket validator and show your ACC ID card when a fare inspector asks.

Who's eligible for a Green Pass?

Green Passes are available to students enrolled in ACC credit classes, Adult Education students, and ACC faculty and staff.  Continuing Education students and hourly employees are not eligible for a Green Pass.

I dropped all of my classes. Can I still  use my Green Pass?

Since you are no longer actively enrolled in ACC, your Green Pass will be deactivated.

How long will my Green Pass remain in effect?

The Green Pass is valid for one semester. Each semester you must order a new pass.

Where can I use my Green Pass?

The Green Pass can be used for Local, Express, MetroRapid bus services, MetroAccess, and MetroRail.  Register your MetroAccess number when you request a Green Pass from the ACC Transportation website. MetroAccess service will be activated within five business days.

I lost my Green Pass. Can I get another one?

Lost or stolen replacement passes are available for $25 (non-refundable). The lost pass will be deactivated. 

My Green Pass is damaged. Can I get a new one?

A damaged pass can be replaced at no charge. Bring the damaged pass to a campus Cashier's Office or Campus Administration Office to get a replacement pass.

Can I share my Green Pass with my family?

No, this program covers only ACC students, faculty, and staff.  An ACC ID card must be shown upon request. Misuse of your Green Pass may lead to the loss of Green Pass privileges.

Can I only use my Green Pass to get to an ACC campus?

You may use the Green Pass anywhere and at any time on the Capital Metro system.

I can’t pick up my Green Pass in person. Can someone else do it for me?

Students or employees who cannot obtain their Green Pass in person may assign another individual to pick it up. To comply with federal laws for confidentiality of official records (FERPA – Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974), the individual must sign a release form to authorize the transaction. Access the Green Pass Transaction by Proxy form.

How is the Green Pass program funded?

The cost of the program is funded through ACC's sustainability fee and revenue from parking permit fees.
