Compression Planning

What is Compression Planning?

Compression Planning® is a visual planning process designed to bring out a group’s best thinking and energy to resolve a complex issue in an environment of fair play and equal participation. The process gets everybody heading in the same direction and compresses the planning time for major projects.

Grants Development staff are trained to facilitate Compression Planning and have used the process to plan grant projects and other large, complex initiatives at the college. If your department is interested in using Compression Planning to plan a project, contact the Grant Development Department. We will discuss your project, problem, or idea and determine who should be involved. We also can handle logistics (handouts, room, etc.), and send you a report summarizing the planning session with a to-do list and next steps.
