ACC Leadership Academy

The ACC Leadership Academy is a leadership development program for full-time faculty and staff members. Participants are chosen for their demonstrated commitment to the college, potential for professional growth, and long-term goals. Academy participants will attend monthly meetings and complete a group project related to their area of interest. 

Program Overview- 

  • Applications are accepted once a year.
  • Once accepted into the program, participants will attend a mandatory retreat.
  • Individuals will a participate in a group project in the last 3 months of the academy. The project should be innovative, self sustainable and relevant to the ACC community. 
  • Participants will attend monthly full day skill building sessions. In order to remain in program, participants must attend 80% of sessions.

Eligibility- 

Participants who are full time staffing table employees (Faculty and Staff) and have two consecutive performance evaluations by June 1, 2018. 

Application Requirements-

 A completed application will consist of; 

  • A letter of interest, stating why you want to be in the leadership academy
  • One letter of support from your supervisor
  • One letter of support from a coworker that can speak to your leadership potential/qualities
  • Two consecutive and recent work evaluations. 
  • Signed Applicant and Supervisor Statement

Important Dates:

Applications open - May 1, 2018 - June 15, 2018

Notification to Applicants - August 15, 2018

Board Introduction-September 10, 2018

Coffee Break - September 12, 2018

Opening Retreat - September 26 and 27, 2018 (Full Day -Wednesday and Thursday)

2018-2019 Cohort Introduction at General Assembly - September 28, 2018

1st Class Day - Friday, October 19, 2018

Class days will typically fall on the third Friday of each month (except for the December 7th class)

All materials need to be emailed to nbell2@austincc.edu no later than June 15th @ 6:00 pm.
