Conditions of Employment – Full-time Faculty

The following are conditions of employment for ACC full-time faculty, librarians, and counselors.

Full-Time Faculty (Teaching)

  1. I agree to abide by all policies, procedures, and regulations of the Austin Community College District (“ACC” or “the College”).
  2. I agree to report to work on 8/14/23 for the fall semester and 1/08/24 for the spring semester. 
  3. I agree to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position of full-time faculty. I understand that failure to perform the responsibilities of my position, including but not limited to, adhering to time schedules regarding classes, posted office hours, examinations, providing required documentation, and other required duties, constitutes a basis for disciplinary action up to and including termination in accordance with Administrative Rule 4.0301.01, Termination of Annual Contract Employees.. I understand the College retains the right to modify an employee’s duties as dictated by the needs of the College.
  4. I understand that ACC will fund each full-time faculty position for 10.5 months during the academic year. I also understand that I may elect to work only 9 months and receive a prorated amount of the 10.5 months. I understand that only under exceptional circumstances will a signed 9-month agreement be changed to a 10.5-month agreement. This change must be approved by the Vice Chancellor, Instruction.
  5. I understand this agreement is in accordance with Administrative Rule 4.1000.02, Faculty Agreements, and the Guideline/Procedure. I understand this position is also covered by Board Policies DC-Employment Practices, DCA–Term Contracts, and DLA-Employee Performance: Evaluation.
  6. I understand that I am subject to reassignment as may be dictated by the needs of the College.
  7. Typographical errors are subject to correction by the Office of Human Resources and initial placement may require modification as approved by the Vice Chancellor, Human Resources. If such changes occur, the Office of Human Resources shall inform the faculty member in writing.

Head Librarian

  1. I agree to abide by all policies, procedures, and regulations of Austin Community College.
  2. I agree to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position of full-time Head Librarian faculty. I understand that failure to perform the responsibilities of my position, including but not limited to, adhering to time schedules regarding reference, instruction, collection development, providing required documentation, and other required duties, constitutes a basis for disciplinary action up to and including termination. I understand the College retains the right to modify an employee’s duties as dictated by the needs of the College.
  3. I understand that ACC will fund each full-time Head Librarian faculty position for 12 months during the academic year.
  4. I understand this agreement is in accordance with Administrative Rule 4.1000.02, Faculty Agreements. I understand this position is also covered by Board Policies DC-Employment Practices, DCA–Term Contracts, and DLA-Employee Performance: Evaluation.
  5. I understand that I am subject to reassignment as may be dictated by the needs of the College
  6. Typographical errors are subject to correction by the Office of Human Resources and initial placement may require modification by the VC,  Human Resources. If such changes occur, the Office of Human Resources shall inform the faculty member in writing.

Librarian

  1. I agree to abide by all policies, procedures, and regulations of Austin Community College.
  2. I agree to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position of full-time Librarian faculty. I understand that failure to perform the responsibilities of my position, including but not limited to, adhering to time schedules regarding reference, instruction, collection development, providing required documentation, and other required duties, constitutes a basis for disciplinary action up to and including termination.  I understand the College retains the right to modify an employee’s duties as dictated by the needs of the College.
  3. I understand that ACC will fund each full-time Librarian faculty position for 12 months during the academic year.  I also understand that I may request to work 10 1/2 months with supervisory approval.
  4. I understand this agreement is in accordance with Administrative Rule 4.1000.02, Faculty Agreements.  I understand this position is also covered by Board Policies DC-Employment Practices, DCA–Term Contracts, and DLA-Employee Performance: Evaluation.
  5. I understand that I am subject to reassignment as may be dictated by the needs of the College.
  6. Typographical errors are subject to correction by the Office of Human Resources and initial placement may require modification by the VC, Human Resources.  If such changes occur, the Office of Human Resources shall inform the faculty member in writing.

Counselors

  1. I agree to abide by all policies, procedures, and regulations of Austin Community College.
  2. I agree to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position of full-time faculty. I understand that failure to perform the responsibilities of my position, as well as other required duties, constitutes a basis for disciplinary action up to and including termination in accordance with Administrative Rule 6.08.001. I understand the College retains the right to modify an employee’s duties as dictated by the needs of the College.
  3. I understand with the exception of designated counselors employed in 12-month positions and counselors who are hired after 07-01-07 and who work 11-month contracts, all other counselors are encouraged to work 10.5- or 11-month assignments.
  4. I understand this agreement is in accordance with Administrative Rule 4.1000.02, Faculty Agreements. I understand this position is also covered by Board Policies DC-Employment Practices, DCA–Term Contracts, and DLA-Employee Performance: Evaluation.
  5. I understand that I am subject to reassignment as may be dictated by the needs of the College.
  6. Special Conditions: Work Schedule will be determined by the VC, Student Affairs.
  7. Typographical errors are subject to correction by the Office of Human Resources and initial placement may require modification as approved by the VC, Human Resources. If such changes occur, the Office of Human Resources shall inform the faculty member in writing.
