Beaver Wars
My research is on the
Beaver Wars also called Iroquois Wars or the French and Iroquois
Wars. The
war was mainly a series of conflicts in the mid-17th century in eastern
North America between the British and Dutch backed Iroquois
Confederation and the French backed Huron Confederation.Â
The product of
the fur trade from the over hunting of the fur bearing animals and the
quest
for new lands which still had fur bearers. Problem, this
quest involves
hunting on lands that belonged to other tribes. Huron and
Iroquois
natural enemies for decades now have European countries instigating the
conflicts between the two confederacies to gain control of the fur
trade.

Used information from the introduction for general information throughout the paper.
Great source for information regarding the relationships and strategies between Dutch, French, French Indians, and the Iroquois Confederacy during the time of the mid 17th century.
 - A good
source about the first victory the
French and Huron had on the Iroquois (Mohawks), French
used their Thunder-sticks against the Iroquois and killed three
of their chiefs. The Iroquois started a
never-ending quest to avenge the killing and honor of their chiefs.
