Don
Ourada earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Advertising Journalism
from Southwest Texas State University in 1979, and started his professional
career shortly thereafter. As a member of the Texas Professional
Photographers Association since 1982, Don's work has been diverse,
to include photojournalism, wedding photography, portraiture, general
commercial photography, advertising photography, and, most recently,
aerial oblique photography. As a former studio owner, Don's clients
have included Hughes Tool Company, General Electric, Argentina Airlines,
Martin-Decker, Price-Hooper & Associates, K-Hall Agency, and numerous
other businesses, both local and national. He spent 18 years as an adjunct/half-time instructor before becoming a full-time ACC professor in 2003. Over the years, he has taught ten different photography courses, ranging from Fundamentals of Photography to Advanced Portraiture to Digital Imaging. In his spare time, Don enjoys racing sports cars and flying his experimental aerobatic airplane.
