1. Election of Adjunct voting representatives.
It was decided that 2 representatives from PHY/AST/ENR and 2 representatives from GEO/PSC would be determined based on an at-large vote. The next highest vote-getter from any discipline would make up the fifth representative. A vote resulted in

2. Selection of recording secretary. Paul Williams volunteered to be recording secretary

3. Physics decided on a budget and identified the amounts of monies to be restored from previously elimated accounts. Geology delayed decision to a later meeting due to member abscences.

Signature authority was granted to Wendi Williams (CYP).

4. Institutional effectiveness forms. Responsible parties were identified and reminded to have these forms delivered to V.P.

5. Allocation of the FY 98 former department head stipend. No decision was made.

6. Lab hrs should = Lecture hrs: How the rest of Texas CCs do it...a report. John Cise presented some data on this issue. Saad Eways volunteered to look into some further aspects of this issue to be presented at the next meeting.

7. PHY 1653 John Cise told us about how UT advises students to take the equivalent class at UT.

8. RVS Physics. Paul Williams will write a memo to Work Force Development regarding the lack of adequate laboratory facilities at RVS.
