The purpose of
this
electronic handbook is to inform all faculty members at the college of
the
comprehensive resources and services available to students, faculty,
and staff
at the learning labs.
As you can see from
our
mission and function statement, the labs
offer much
more than tutoring in a variety of subjects. We aim to be a
comprehensive
resource for learning and teaching.
We hope this
handbook will
make it easier for you to identify and make use of college-wide as well
as
campus-specific lab services and facilities, thereby facilitating
faculty
involvement in the development, design, and delivery of lab activities.
Because supporting
developmental programs is at the core of our mission, this handbook is
also an
open invitation for faculty in developmental education to integrate lab
activities with program curriculum objectives in order to improve
retention
rate, promote student success, and foster collaboration across
disciplines or
areas.
