How to Reserve the Computer Lab
If you want to reserve the lab weekly for your
class(es) or just for a few specific times during the semester , please fill
out the Reservation Form and/or stop by the
computer lab (Room 614) so we can discuss the labs schedule and your needs. We
are limited to 24 PCs inside the computer lab and 6 Public PCs outside of the
lab. Forms are in Excel format and can be attached and emailed to egonzal1@austincc.edu if that method is
more convenient.
Two or more classes can be scheduled for the same time slot
if the teachers involved work out a mutually agreeable schedule with the lab
staff and among themselves.
Please note the following:
1. During the initial scheduling process the lab hours
will be assigned on a first-come,
first-served basis. We will
work to accommodate all instructors and classes that wish to use the computer lab
if given adequate advanced notice (48 hrs) We would appreciate a class roll for
those classes that require student enrollment (Skills Tutor and Plato 4.1) and
also a class syllabus so we can make sure the computers will run the
assignments you give your students.
2. We cannot schedule more than one block of time for a
single class during the day; you can schedule the lab during the class period
or during the lab period but not both times.
3. You do not have to sign up for all class days. You can
pick one day a week in the computer lab, or just a few times during the
semester.
4. You do not have to come for the entire class time. You
can designate which section of your class time you would like to bring your
students in.
5. Lab reservations requests must be submitted at least
48 hours in advance to allow for scheduling and/or conflicts to be resolved.
6. If you require specific software, it must be licensed
for college wide use and installed on the common domain and checked out prior
to your first visit to the lab. Please submit your software requests to the lab
managers. This normally is done on a semester basis only. Last minute requests
cannot at present be accommodated.
Thank you for your support and cooperation. Call 223-8140 if you need additional information.
