What Excites and Inspires Phylis

“My typical student at Austin Community College enrolls in my Business Studies classes as an elective. The student’s excitement about initiating a career in business always excites and inspires me as an instructor because the student’s enthusiasm is contagious. Yet,  I feel the enormous responsibility that I have to serve students’ needs in a meaningful way.

I find that students today are very engaged with succeeding in life. They are depending on me to share with them the practical - real world - application realities as well as the theoretical basics of  business that they see as the means to their professional success.

Using a wide variety of teaching media - text, video, audio, internet discussion, and research - I strive for excellence in the ways that each classroom topic is covered.“
