Mary Hensley, Ed.D.
Executive Vice President, College Operations
Mary Hensley is the Executive Vice President, College Operations, at Austin Community College where she oversees a number of programs including the Capital Area College Tech-Prep Consortium; College and Career Preparatory Program; Early College Start and College Connection; Grant Development; Information Technology; Instructional Resources and Technology; and Instructional Support Services.
Dr. Hensley has administrative experience at both Austin Community College and McLennan Community College. She also has been a teacher, counselor, middle school principal, high school principal, director of secondary education, assistant superintendent, and deputy superintendent in the Ysleta, Socorro, and Round Rock school districts.
Dr. Hensley has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas, a Master’s of Arts degree from the University of Texas at El Paso, and a Doctor of Education degree from Baylor University.
She holds elementary, counselor, supervisor, mid-management, and superintendent certificates. Additionally, she holds certificates in Professional Development and Appraisal System, Texas Teacher Appraisal System and Updates, Advanced Instructional Leadership Training, and Instructional Leadership Training.
Dr. Hensley is active in many professional and civic organizations including serving as the Chairperson of the Austin Community Action Network Administrative Team; Austin Independent School District Partners-In-Education Executive Board; Austin Independent School District House Bill 400 Committee; Austin Literacy Coalition of Central Texas; Bastrop Educational Foundation; and the Capital Area College Tech-Prep Consortium Committee.
