Welcome to the world of computers and advanced technology

Recognize the vehicles on the left above? (Click on the picture to get a better view!) How about the image on the right? The two images are connected in many exciting ways. SpaceShipOne, the first private vehicle to fly into space, and White Knight, the mother ship, could not have accomplished their missions without the support of an incredible number of computer systems such as the Pentium chip seen above. Computers played a critical role both in the design of the two ships you see, and in the systems onboard them. I began my career as an aeronautical engineer, but soon discovered the magical world of computers, and found myself evolving into a computer scientist. What I discovered during my long career in the USAF and private industry is that no matter what field you want to pursue in your life, learning how computers fit into your plans is a critical part of your education. My goal as a teacher is to help you explore the many ways computers can help your career advance. If you are a current student, your class pages are available below. If you are still exploring what you want to do in you life, I would be glad to talk to you about where you want your career to go!
