Course Description:  Further applications of programming techniques using VB.NET. Topics include file access methods, data structures and modular programming, program testing and documentation. Database controls, SQL, classes, report writers, and Internet topics, database connectivity and object-oriented methods are also covered.

 

Prerequisite(s):  ITSE 2305 or department approval.

Understand how to use the Microsoft.Net framework effectively
Design, code, debug, test, and document a program that follows an object oriented design and 3-tier architecture.

Grade Policy:  Grade will be assigned based both on concepts and practical application. Exams, homework, and lab projects will be a part of the grade.  An overall grade will be assigned on the following grading scale:

 

90%  - 100%

80%  -  89%

B

70%  -  79%

C

60%  -  69%

Program Assignments:

  1. Must be constructed using Visual Studio 2008.
  2. Must be complete working Solutions unless otherwise noted by professor.
  3. Compress the Solutions directory into a .ZIP file.  AGAIN, compress the Solutions directory which contains all files required by the solution.
  4. TEST the file before submitting.  TEST.  If it does not operate properly for you, it will not pass verification testing for credit.
  5. Submit the .ZIP file to Blackboard under Assignments.
  6. Must be submitted in Blackboard by 11:59pm of the due date indicated in the course schedule.
  7. Projects submitted by 11:59pm of the next calendar day after the due dates are eligible for 80% credit.
  8. No credit will be awarded for projects received after the extension. 
  9. To receive credit, programming projects/assignments must completely meet requirements exactly as specified.
  10. Partial credit is not awarded for programs that do not meet requirements.
  11. The EC (Extra Credit) Program may be submitted to replace a Program 1-6 submission.

 

Exams:

1.      All exams are administered in an ACC Academic Testing Center.

2.      Exams are electronically administered via Blackboard.  Paper versions are not supplied.

3.      Each exam is ready and may be taken when it appears under Assignments in Blackboard.

1.      All exams will be available at least one week prior to the exam due date.

2.      Exam Procedures at the link below must be followed step-by-step to successfully access the exams.

3.      Print a copy of the Exam Procedures and take it with you to the Testing Center when taking an exam.
