How do I download Access files from the OA network server?

Open the OA folder on the desktop.  Double click Student Data, select Access 2007.

Then Right Click to Send to your flash drive. 

Be sure to resize all columns and print in landscape when printing tables.  You may also change your margins so that it all will fit on one page.

How do I print screen?  Make sure your screen is displaying the dialog box or other image.
Click the print screen button.  Open Word blank document, press paste.  Then you may add your header information and print.

How do I create footers in a report?

Open your report  (report name, followed by your name)

Go to Design View, go to footer

Then put ITL # (for In the Lab) (for example)

Name of Database (Hockey Fans, for example), Step #

How can I get a datasheet to fit on one page (landscape)?

Datasheets can fit on one page by using “narrow” margins (less than one inch side margins) then set it back to normal (it will resize)

What should I study for the objective test?

Read the tutorial pages.  Visit the Shelly Cashman website—flash cards, chapter reinforcement, practice test  (you do not have to turn in your results)  There are normally 25 questions; scantron is provided.

What’s on the performance evaluation?

It’s a timed test on creating a database and printing tables, reports and forms from that database>

Accuracy is very important.

What are some common problems with forms using our textbook?

Insert date/time….I get kicked out Lab personnel say: “Try again, it should work.”

I’m getting a package comment instead of bit/map image…what do I do?

Lab personnel say: “When Insert bit/map image (don’t follow numbered instructions, follow paragraph separate set of instructions)….. if you do it incorrectly, you will get “package” label (p. 310-311)”

What is the new procedure to remove the flash (USB) drive? (added so I don’t forget it )

Be sure to remove the flash drive before you log out or you will lose data.
