Excel  2007 Printing Procedures

 

Main Problem:

·         Font size at least 12pt.

·         Header has your Name & Problem# only!  Don’t put your name in worksheet.

·         Main Title Merged & Centered, and at least 14 point.  Make one if needed.

·         Column widths are correct, use Currency format where needed.

·         Enter decimals as percent (.5 -> 50%) if appl.  Use $ if appl.  Line them up properly.

·         Field Names are Bold, Center.  Labels = Left Align

·         The word ‘Total’ should be bold, right justified

·         The total number should be bold & double underlined

·         Date format = 09/08/08 in worksheet.  September 08, 2008 in title.

·         Vertical & Horizontal Centering

·         If Portrait won’t normally fit on 1page, then print landscape.

 

Print Formulas:

·         Control-` to show formulas.  Extend columns if needed – it changes with Formula View !

·         Same rules as above, but always print Landscape, fit to one page.  Verify Header.

 

Charts / Graphs:

·         Print the chart on a separate page with a header.

·         Print the worksheet for the chart on a separate page with formulas, see above.

·         Chart title = Company Name, Subtitle can give description.

·         Axes Labels use parallel names, like Number of Plays, Type of Plays.

·         12point minimum for all.  Title=18, Legend + Axes = 14.

·         Legend at bottom.  Verify Header.

·         Pie Chart Data Labels = Category Name, Percent, Outside Label.

·         Other Charts:  Use Currency Format so $- becomes $0.  Get rid of .00 in axes format.  Use Axis Alignment at -45 or 45 degrees.  Axis Units are integers if applicable.

 

Webpage:

·         Name the tabs.  Include ScreenTips.  Don’t center vertically or horizontally on page.

 

Data Table / Sorts / Filters:

·         If large, don’t center on the page vertical or horizontal – try to get the most on 1 page.

·         Header includes Your Name, Problem (Excel G-IC2), Details (Sorted by State Ascending).

·         Center the dates as 03/14/08 but keep font small if table is large.

 

Submit Order:

·         1st problem, Formula View of 1st problem, 2nd problem, Formula View of 2nd problem… 

with 1 staple.
