How are scholarship funds applied to my account?

Unless accompanied by specific instructions from the donor, scholarships of more than $1000 will be disbursed in two equal payments with half to be disbursed during the fall semester and half during the spring semester.  Should you begin attending ACC during the spring semester, half of the funds will be disbursed during the spring semester and the other half will be applied towards the following summer or fall (the next semester in which you enroll).

What if my scholarship is for tuition/fees and books only?

If your donor specified that the scholarship was to be used for tuition, fees and books only, the exact amount of tuition and fees will be applied to your student account. If any scholarship funds remain after tuition and fees have been paid, you will be issued a book voucher.

When will I receive the funds?

Each semester funds will be disbursed the week before classes start.  All funds will be applied to any tuition and fees owed to ACC.  If you have already paid or have a credit after tuition and fees have been paid, you will be issued a refund.

How will I get any refund I am due?

Refunds will be sent to you according to your ACC OneCard preference. 

Note:  Students enrolled solely in Continuing Education classes will be mailed a check directly from ACC to the address on file with Admissions & Records (funds will not be sent to Higher One).

What happens if I do not use all of my scholarship funds?

Any scholarship funds remaining at the end of each year will be fowarded to future semesters unless otherwise indicated by the donor.  Should you choose not to return to ACC or transfer to another institution, unused funds will be returned to the donor.

If you know you will not be returning and would like the funds returned to the donor right away, please contact the Scholarship Coordinator.
