ACC's Musical Celebration of Juneteenth



Join us at the annual Juneteenth celebration at the Eastview Campus, June 17, 2016, 10:00am-3:30pm.

Juneteenth is a U.S. holiday honoring African-American heritage. It commemorates the announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas in 1865. Community members and students will enjoy live entertainment, games, vendor booths, a domino tournament, and college information. The event is free and open to all.

The celebration is sponsored by ACC, the college's Community Outreach Office, ACC's African American Cultural Center, the Men of Color program, the City of Austin, Austin Parks and Recreation, and several other sponsors.

DACA Clinic
Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is an American immigration policy that allows certain illegal immigrants who entered the country before their 16th birthday and before June 2007 to receive a renewable two-year work permit and exemption from deportation. In this workshop you can start or renew your permit. This session is completely FREE.

Taller de DACA
Acción Diferida para los Llegados en la Infancia, es una excepción a la ley de inmigración que permite a ciertos inmigrantes indocumentados que llegaron al país antes de los 16 años y antes de Junio del 2007 a recibir un permiso de dos años que previene su deportación. En este taller tú puedes iniciar el proceso o renovar tu permiso. Esta sesión es completamente GRATUITA.

Educa Austin: An Austin ISD and ACC District Initiative

Educa Austin  es un programa de radio del Distrito Escolar Independiente de Austin y en conjunto con Austin Community College informan a los padres de habla hispana sobre las noticias y programas que beneficien a sus hijos en sus vidas académicas. El programa es transmitido por Radio Mujer Internacional 95.1 FM  todos los miércoles de 2 a 3 de la tarde. El programa también es transmitido en vivo.

Las conductoras Norma Garza y Perla Delgado, entrevistan a especialistas como Olivia Hernandez, director del programa dual de Austin ISD, Sarah Solis, Instructora del programa de Inglés, Maestro en Casa y Alejandra Polcik asesora bilingüe de la Oficina de Éxito Estudiantil de Austin Community College.
