How much does it cost to use the Learning Lab?

The Learning Lab is a free resource for all currently enrolled ACC students.

Who is eligible for tutoring in the Learning Lab?

All ACC students are eligible for tutoring in the ACC courses in which they are currently enrolled. This includes prospective students studying for the TSI Assessment. Check the campus schedule to see which tutoring subjects are offered at each campus, or browse the online database for even more subjects and scheduling options.

Our tutors consist of ACC professors, former college professors, former school teachers, professionals in the fields, and peer tutors.

If you are coming to the Learning Lab for other services like computers, printing, or helpful handouts, then feel free to stop by your campus Learning Lab any time during our hours of operation.

When should I come to a Learning Lab?

The sooner you visit the Learning Lab, the better. If you are struggling with your course material, then now is the time to talk to a tutor! Don’t wait until you fall behind or fail a test. We are here to provide the extra support you need to feel confident about what you’re learning and stay on track for success.

What do I need to bring to the Learning Lab?

Please bring any course material you wish to review or discuss, including assignments from your instructors, textbooks, handouts from your classes, class notes, study guides, or any general questions you have.

How much time will I have with a tutor?

Tutoring sessions may vary based on individual needs, time of day, and tutor availability. The more prepared you are for your session, the more effective your session will be!

Does each Learning Lab have computers that I can use?

Yes, all Learning Labs have computers for use. Please check the Learning Lab hours and locations. Students who are taking online courses and don’t have reliable technology may apply to borrow an ACC-issued iPad or laptop for the semester. We also expanded free WiFi, which is now available in the parking lots at all campuses.

Can I print my work in a Learning Lab?

Yes, all Learning Labs have computers and printers for use (15 pages per day). Please check the Learning Lab hours and locations.

Can my classmates and I study together with a tutor?

Yes, tutors are available to work with small groups. Group study is encouraged. Contact the Learning Lab to set up a space for your study group to work together.

Does each Learning Lab have assistive resources?

Yes. Each Learning Lab has dedicated assistive technology computer stations, which offer access to Zoom Text 2022, Fusion 2022, Jaws 2022, and FS Reader 3.0.
