Key to the course schedule

The following key explains the information included in the course schedule available online and in print.

Course prerequisites

Codes to the left of the course synonym (see above illustration) indicate whether the course has prerequisites. Prerequisites are required skills or courses that must fulfilled before you can register for the indicated course.

Most college credit courses have a reading, writing, or math prerequisite; some courses have more than one.  You must prove proficiency in the required skills by fulfilling state-mandated assessment requirements at the time of admission to ACC.

Courses with course prerequisites have a plus (+) before the synonym. You must provide proof of this prerequisite (grade slip, transcript, etc.) at the first class meeting. Prerequisites are listed in the ACC Catalog. Without proof you will be dropped from class.
