Advice and referrals on personal issues
spacer ACC counselors are here to help you achieve your educational goals.  When you face difficult life situations that are hindering your academic progress, counselors can assist in problem solving, goal setting, decision making, and guide you to accomplish your educational goals. You can meet with a counselor on drop-in basis or by appointment at any of the ACC campuses.

If your situation calls for a treatment requiring a specific expertise or long-term counseling, a list of community resources will be provided for you.  Even if you’re not in need of assistance today, check out 2-1-1 Texas for a free state/local information and referral on health and human services such as food, shelter, rent assistance, child care, counseling and more.

Sometimes a situation calls for an immediate response.  If you are at risk of suicide, help is available 24/7 at 472-4357 for Travis County; (800) 841-1255 for Williamson County; or (800) 273-8255 for National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.  Please don’t hesitate to call.

Counselors offer free college-success workshops in the areas of academic, career, and personal effectiveness.  To attend or learn more about a workshop, go to http://www.austincc.edu/support/advising/workshops.php.  You may choose to register for a specific workshop or speak individually with a counselor.

Go to http://www.austincc.edu/support/hours.php for On-Campus Office Hours and Locations, and remember, we are here to help you achieve your educational dreams.
