Transfer Academy

Overview

The ACC’s Transfer Academy is all about making your transition to a four-year college or university as smooth as possible. You will get practical information and guidance on how to plan a successful transfer from the beginning of your transfer considerations all the way through the application process.

The Academy meets three times over the course of each Fall and Spring semester. Advisory I and II are each an hour-and-a-half in duration. For your convenience advisories are offered on most campuses, mornings and evenings. Advisory III is an all day university tour.

Transfer Advisories

Advisory One: Transfer Essentials
The first advisory addresses the fundamentals of the transfer process including the application process and deadlines for ACC’s top transfer universities, financial considerations, making sure you are taking the right courses for transfer, and tips for avoiding transfer shock.
Advisory Two: Getting Interactive
Here, you will meet and speak directly with selected university recruiters and advisors who will present on transfer admissions requirements and discipline-specific information.
Advisory Three: Tour de Transfer
The University campus tour offers you a sneak preview of campus life and connects you with staff and faculty at the transfer university. You must attend the first two advisories, to be eligible to join the ACC-sponsored tour of selected Texas colleges and universities. If you are unable to attend an advisory, you may schedule an alternative make up session. Others may join the tour space permitting.
