Welcome to Assessment |
Most programs offered at ACC require students to take all or part of a series of placement tests. The purpose of this testing is to determine the level at which you begin your college coursework.

The Assessment process
Scheduling your assessment
- Submit your college application before scheduling any testing appointments.
- Visit the campus Student Services Office to see if you need to take any placement tests. Obtain a test referral form, if needed. See placement testing exemptions.
- Pay any fees online at ACC's Marketplace and get an order number, or pay fees at an ACC Cashier Office and get a receipt number. See testing fees.
- Contact the Assessment Center to schedule your appointment. Testing schedule.
Taking your assessment
- Check in at the Assessment Center at least 15 minutes before test time.
- Present a state or government issued photo ID and your receipt. Also bring your Social Security number, and assessment fee waiver if applicable.
- Take the test. Allow 5 hours for the full test, reading, writing including an essay, and math.
- Receive your test results at the conclusion of the test.
- Meet with an advisor to determine appropriate courses.
