You may request a review of your financial aid if you believe your financial need has changed. Once you have filled out your FAFSA, submit one of two forms -- either the Special Condition Application-Dependent or Special Condition Application-Independent, depending on your student status -- to the Financial Aid Office. The Special Condition process will not begin until you have spoken to a Financial Aid representative.
Special circumstances include:
- Unusual medical expenses paid by student, spouse, or parent
- A significant reduction in earnings
- Loss of income
- Death of a spouse or parent
- Separation or divorce
- Disability
- Private school tuition expenses
- One-time income such as severance pay, etc.
- End of benefits (unemployment, child support, etc.)
*Students who have a 0 EFC do not qualify for a Special Condition Appeal.
