Federal Work-Study (FWS) and Texas Work-Study (TXWS) programs offer students an opportunity to earn financial aid through work.

Eligibility
To receive a College Work-Study job, a student must have applied for financial aid within the school’s established deadlines, be eligible for the award based on the federal need analysis, meet Austin Community College’s financial aid Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements, and be enrolled in at least six semester hours.
Awards
Awards are made on a first-come, first-serve basis to students who have requested college work-study and who meet all requirements. Eligible students will be awarded work-study and informed through an award notification to their ACCmail account. The largest College Work-Study award given is for fifteen (15) hours of work per week, except in the summer semester when larger awards are possible. Smaller awards are given, depending on the financial need of the student. Presently every College Work-Study student begins at the pay rate of $9.25 per hour. If you are awarded FWS or TXWS, you must contact your campus Financial Aid Office for job placement.
Once initial work-study funds are awarded, remaining students may to be placed on a 'wait list' and awarded based on a funds available basis.
