Housing
Austin Community College does not provide housing for any of its students. The college provides referrals and information on housing, but accepts no liability for the student's choice. Students may choose to live in an apartment, a private home, or in a home stay (host family) environment.
Lease agreements
A "lease" is a binding legal contract between you and the property owner. By signing the lease you are obligated to pay rent for the duration of the lease. It is difficult to break a lease, so before you sign make sure that you are happy with your decision. Never sign a lease unless you are completely satisfied with the apartment/house and understand all the terms of the lease.

Private homes
A list of private homes that rent rooms is available through advertisements in local newspapers.
Transportation
Public transportation is available through the city of Austin, which operates an extensive bus service. A copy of available bus schedules can be obtained at local grocery stores. Or you can contact Capital Metro, the bus company, at (512) 474.1200.
Note: Some areas of town do not have bus service. Students may want to check bus schedules before renting an apartment or room to decide if it is easy to get to the ACC campuses.
