ISO moves to new space
In case you haven’t heard the news, the ACC International Student Office has moved to a new space. We are now located in room 8105 of Building G at the Riverside Campus. Our phone numbers, fax number, and e-mail addresses have not changed and are available on our website, http://www.austincc.edu/support/international/.
Leaving the U.S. during Winter Break? Get travel letter no later than Dec. 11th!
If you are an F-1 visa student and you will travel out of the country during the Winter Break, the International Student Office highly recommends that you obtain an official travel letter from our office before leaving. This letter will verify to Immigration that you are enrolled at ACC, in good academic standing, and in valid F-1 visa status. Our office can get very busy at this time of year so we recommend that you come in no later than Thursday, December 11th to avoid any delays in processing your letter.
Transfer fair this week
Austin Community College is pleased to invite you to the 2008 Austin/Central Texas TACRAO recruitment fair on December 3-4. You will have the chance to visit with more than 40 colleges and university recruiters to discuss transfer information, educational goals, and more. International students considering transferring to Sam Houston State University will be pleased to note that Dr. Reiko Clark, Director of International Programs at SHSU, will be at the Riverside Campus on December 4th from 1:00 – 3:00 PM to discuss their international student transfer process. For more details and an up-to-date list of other colleges/universities who will participate in the Transfer Fair, please go to http://www.austincc.edu/support/advising/transfer/tacrao/student.php

F-1 students - Check the signature on your I-20
Dropping classes
New tuition payment plan
Get parking permits at Campus Cashier
Was your I-20 signed by Kelly McNally? Then contact ISO immediately!
If you are an F-1 visa student and your I-20 is from ACC, you should check to see if your I-20 was signed by Kelly McNally. If the answer is yes, then you should bring your I-20 into the International Student Office as soon as possible to obtain a new signature. If you are planning to leave the country during the winter break, then you need to obtain a new signature before you leave. If you don’t, you may have problems when you try to re-enter the U.S.
Need to drop a class? Talk to ISO first!
The last day to drop Fall 2008 16-week or 12-week classes is Monday, November 24th. If you are on an F-1 student visa, you must contact the International Student Office at the Riverside campus before you can drop any classes.
New and Improved Tuition Installment Plan
College can be hard on the wallet, and ACC wants to help make things easier for you. Students can now divide their total tuition costs into four equal installments and pay them throughout the semester. Please note that the installment plan is available only for 16-week courses and it is not available for 12-week or 8-week courses. To sign up for the plan, visit any ACC Campus Cashier’s office. More details can be found online.
Parking permits now issued at Cashier’s office
Parking permits are now issued only at Campus Cashier’s offices. They are no longer issued by Campus Police offices. Parking permits cost $10 per academic year and you can pay the fee by credit card over the phone or online when you register, or you can pay in person at a Campus cashier’s office. You can then go to a cashier’s office and compete a parking permit request form to obtain your permit. Visitors to an ACC campus should sign in with the Campus Police office upon arrival.
