Diversity Visa Lottery starts today!

The 2011 Diversity Visa Lottery application period begins today, October 2, 2009 and will end on Monday, November 30, 2009. The Diversity Immigrant Visa Program, also known as the “visa lottery,” gives a maximum of 55,000 permanent resident visas every year to people from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. Winning applications are drawn by random selection. The program carries very strict eligibility requirements and instructions.
