As ACC’s Greenhouse Gas Inventory indicated, over 46% of ACC’s GHG emissions are coming from purchased Electricity.  We have investigated every aspect of the campus operation to see how we can save energy.  

We’ve undertaken many projects and measures already.  Some of these projects are not noticeable such as upgrading the HVAC system to an energy efficient unit and some are visible such as the energy efficient lighting fixtures and the occupancy sensors for the lighting.  The occupancy sensors turn lights off when there is no movement or sound in an office or hallway and turn them on when the area is occupied. We've installed occupancy sensors in several buildings and will be expanding the installation to many other buildings.
