ACC has developed a variety of programs with a renewable energy focus.  The college is a leader in solar/photovoltaics education and training, and it also offers courses in wind power, solar thermal systems, energy efficient structures, solar cell manufacturing, nanoelectronics, managing for sustainability, green building, weatherization, and alternative fuel vehicles.

Renewable Energy Solar for School Photovoltaic Project (Mar.2009) - ACC partnered with the U.S. Department of Energy and Austin Energy to install 2.4-kilowatt photovoltaic systems––each featuring a solar array and GridPoint’s smart grid technology––to serve as teaching tools at two campuses, Rio Grande and Riverside.
