Student Rights and Responsibilities Committee


1. Establish a clear set of student expectations regarding scholastic integrity.
2. Review and simplify procedures related to student complaints, grievances, and appeals, ensuring due process rights.
3. Develop clear, concise definitions of what constitutes a complaint and a grievance.
4. Establish a simple checklist of steps a student should follow when filing a complaint or grievance.
5. Outline alternative options available to a student other than filing a complaint or grievance.

Marketing and Outreach Committee


1. Serves as a forum for discussion of issues related to student outreach and marketing.
2. Develops and recommends to the President strategies related to district-wide student outreach and recruitment efforts, and evaluates past strategies.
3. Ensures that the College's outreach efforts place a priority on recruiting underserved populations.
4. Identifies target markets and appropriate programs to meet those markets' needs.
5. Determines and evaluates strategies to reach markets.

College Accessibility Committee


  1. Reviews accessibility policies, practices and services to develop strategies and recommendations for district-wide implementation.
  2. Identifies strategies to provide training opportunities for faculty and staff to assist the College in appropriately serving students and employees with disabilities.
  3. Reviews resources and recommend initiatives that have budgetary implications.
  4. Serves as forum for discussion of programs and services for students and employees with disabilities.

Assessment & Advising Committee


  1. Develops and makes recommendations regarding college-wide assessment, advising and placement policies and procedures. Academic policy recommendations will be submitted through the appropriate Council.
  2. Seeks input from all areas of the College regarding effectiveness of assessment, advising and placement procedures.
  3. Provides for the improvement of assessment, advising and placement services on a college-wide basis.
  4. Coordinates assessment, advising and placement functions with task forces and college-wide committees.

Admissions & Registration Committee

Effective Fall 2017: The Admissions & Registration Committee will be replaced by the Enrollment Services Committee.


1.  Designs and monitors the implementation of consistent college credit enrollment and registration procedures.

Environmental Health & Safety Committee


  1. Recommends and reviews procedures, administrative rules and programs related to environmental health and safety (EHS) security management, preparedness, emergency management and sustainability.
  2. Make recommendations to enhance campus safety.
  3. Assists in ensuring consistent district-wide implementation of safety/regulatory requirements, procedures, programs and administrative rules.
  4. Reviews activities for EHS compliance, including identifying/implementing appropriate corrective actions.

Administrative Services Council


  1. Develops recommendations for district-wide rules and procedures.
  2. Provides for the continuous improvement of administrative services on a college-wide basis.
  3. Enhance consistency of campus/center operations across the district.
  4. Seeks to better coordinate services among all campuses/sites.
  5. Provides linkages between campuses and the various District administrative units.
  6. Responds to requests and recommendations from assigned Task Forces and Committees.

Research Review Committee


  1. Reviews external requests for use of ACC data to conduct research studies.
  2. Determines the criteria for reviewing proposals.
  3. Makes recommendations to the Vice President for Effectiveness & Accountability.

Faculty Development & Evaluation Committee


1. Researches the current literature and available data to recommend appropriate faculty development and faculty evaluation procedures.
2. Seeks data from all areas of the College regarding the effectiveness of faculty development procedures and activities, including evaluation of faculty development activities and disseminating the results.
3. Reviews, develops and recommends revisions to college-wide administrative rules and procedures for faculty development and faculty evaluation.

Distance Learning Committee


  1. Reviews policies and guidelines, and recommends changes to support quality distance learning programs.
  2. Established standards of good practice for distance learning course development and delivery based on SACS and THECB guidelines.
  3. Assists in the analysis of evaluation for distance learning student support services, and recommends changes to improve activities and outcomes.
  4. Advises staff on faculty development and resources needed to design, develop and implement quality distance learning courses.
