Congratulations!
Congratulations to an Outstanding Principal! Ron Bolek, Wooten Principal, was nominated by ACC interns Alejandra Carrillo and Noelix Rivera.
He is outstanding because he shows passion for his work and he is a very hard worker. Mr. Bolek has a high sense of responsibility towards children’s education. As a principal he is supportive and encourages us to be the best teachers we can be. His dedication is an example for anyone who gets the opportunity to work for him. Mr. Bolek is a very caring person who helps others accomplish their success. It has been a wonderful experience working with him this past year.
Outstanding Principal W. Ruth Harvin, Ed.D has three ACC interns at Winn Elementary. Imelda Hopps, Diana Martinez, and Blanca Puente all expressed appreciation for her support. Although our school is an "Academically Unacceptable" campus this year, Dr. Harvin has been providing us all the help and encouragement we require. Since it is our duty to perform with TAKS results, she sends us nice cards to encourage the teachers who have to "show their work" per se. This gives me a boost to do my job even better. Another one is that the students also feel encouraged because they give prizes to those who perform, extrinsic rewards like pencils, and intrinsic ones like public appraisal, etc. allow them to motivate themselves and try harder. There are many other great things this principal has done for us, at least for me, she is an admirable person and outstanding principal (Blanca Puente). Ms. Martinez comments that Ms. Harvin always gives me suppport with whatever I need. And Imelda Hopps insists that her principal provided her with all the resources needed during her interventions with students. She analyzed the weekly scores of the students and gave me feedback and advice.
Congratulations to our 7 AISD Teachers of Promise, representing 14 campuses: Olga Andreeva (Barrington Elementary), Tara Boyer(Dobie), Carmen Carrillo (Wooten), Imelda Hopps (Winn), Jim Johnson (ALC), Ivonne Rodriguez (Blackshear), and Rodrigo Rodriguez (Cook Elementary). Thanks also to their ACC supervisors, Jodie Leach and Joyce Hancock!
