checkStep 7: Apply to at least 3 districts/Apply for Probationary Certificate/Hired at a school. We recommend that students wait for the results of their content exams to complete district applications, but applying early will provide opportunities such as being “hired unassigned” for a district. [This means that you are promised a position although you will still have to find a particular campus with an opening for the upcoming school year.] The downside of applying early is that if you do not pass the content exam, you will not be considered until you retake and pass that exam. Upon passing, update your resume and application to show that you are “highly qualified.”
