Math & Science Teachers

Math and Science candidates are needed for area classrooms! Apply now to make teaching your future career.

Prerequisites

  1. All applicants must have a bachelor's degree with coursework from accredited institutions, as required by the state of Texas.

  2. Math and Science candidates earn a composite certification (Math, Science, 4-8 Math/Science) with SBEC/Texas Education Agency.

  3. All candidates must have 24 hours of science or 24 hours of math, or 12 math and 12 science for the Math/Science 4-8 composite. Districts favor candidates with at least 12 hours of higher level coursework. Candidates having more than 3 credit hours of anthropology, finance and accounting, or ecology must take a relevant composite course.

  4. GPA must be 2.5 or above (overall or in the last 60 hours).
  • Math and Science candidates must take a "Methods for Tutoring" course and work as a Tutor with Vision.
  • Math and Science candidates must take the Generalist EC-6 if they plan to teach at the 5th and 6th grade elementary level.
We offer Math and Science Composite 8-12 only by district request.
