Tutors with Vision Certification Training, January 2012 - ACC's Tutors with Vision program offers a unique, hands-on course that prepares you for tutoring students in any grade level or area. TV participants have worked with students in local schools for four years, with an amazing track record! Learn the skills necessary for working with students as a professional, for self-satisfaction and payment. Led by facilitator Abel Villarreal, you will learn how to become the best tutor. This new program will lead to TV Certification, recognized in the greater Austin area.
EDTC 1070 Tutors with Vision Certification, Regular & Advanced (48 hours/$300)
Promote understanding of students, how to remediate basic understanding in math, science, and English fundamentals, and how to reach students on a personal level. Working with a seasoned facilitator brings stability, credibility, and understanding to students, teachers, and tutors. Tutoring alongside someone who knows the ropes and who will assist you with working with the students makes the experience non-threatening, enjoyable, and rewarding. Immediate feedback from tutor and facilitator alleviates frustration and misunderstandings. You will be working alongside master teachers who are there for the students and you. Study the needed behaviors and methods in working with students, including motivation, communication, and using data to enhance learning. The participant/student will fulfill requirements for Tutors with Vision Certification, Regular and Advanced Levels.
