In order to enroll in this course you must have successfully completed (a C or better) ACNT1331, Federal Income Tax: Individual.

Textbook:

Textbook(s): There are several different options when purchasing the textbook. It is important that you purchase the correct textbook and supplemental material. You must purchase the textbook and the Aplia ITS card. Purchasing the textbook only will not allow you to complete the required homework.

It is not ok for you to purchase the 2010 (or 33rd edition) of the book. The tax code/law changes every year. You must have a current version of the book.

I have detailed two options for you along with prices - you only need to purchase one option. I have also provided links to websites that you can use to purchase the text.

You will spend more money in the long run by purchasing a used textbook. The best pricing option that I have found is to purchase the Aplia online either with or without the additional hard-copy of the book.

Required:

Option 1:Purchase the hard copy version of the textbook with the Aplia ITS Card and Tax Cut Tax Preparation Software.
Bundle: South-western Federal Taxation 2011: Corporations, Partnerships, Estates, and Trusts, with Tax Cut Tax Preparation Software CD-Rom + Checkpoint 6-month Printed Access Card for 2011 tax titles + Aplia ITS Card 1-semester + Aplia Edition sticker, 34th Edition. Hoffman/Raabe/Smith/Maloney. Approximate price: $250.

You can purchase this Bundle at either the ACC bookstore, cengagebrain.com, or other local textbook stores.

Option 2:Purchase Aplia online. The Aplia product includes a complete electronic version of the textbook. Note, this option does not include the Tax Cut Tax Preparation Software CD-Rom. You can either fill out the forms using the IRS website or come to the Northridge Campus CIS/Accounting Computer Lab and use the software in the lab.

Notice once the electronic version is paid ($90), a student can opt to also purchase the print book from Aplia for a discounted price.  The print book will be shipped directly to the students' address and will arrive in a few days.  A student can choose to order a print book at any time - it does not have to be done during the Aplia registration process.

You can purchase the Aplia only product at www.aplia.com. The Aplia key will be available in Blackboard once the semester starts.

Optional:         

Corporations, Partnerships, Estates and Trusts 2011 Study Guide; Hoffman, Raabe, Smith, Maloney; South-Western Federal Taxation. Approximate price: $40.00.
I recommend the study guide if you will use it. It's a great tool for reviewing the material in the chapters.
