General Education
Though private institutions in Texas are not required to develop a "Core Curriculum". every accredited institution of higher education must designate General Education requirements. (College and university accreditation is earned through one of six regional accrediting bodies and insures the quality of education received by students. Schools accredited in Texas are done so by SACS, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.)
