The ACC Transfer Academy is a program designed to help students successfully transfer to a 4-year university or college through a series of advisory sessions and workshops. The Academy has something to offer all students. The Transfer Academy will help students to be better informed about their transfer options and better prepared for the transfer process, saving both time and money in the long run. All events are free to former or current ACC students.

What is the Academy?

The Transfer Academy consists of three parts: Transfer Essentials, Getting Interactive, and Tour de Transfer. Academy events are held during the Fall and Spring semesters. These advisory sessions are spread across ACC’s 8 main campuses with dates and times that vary to accommodate students’ busy schedules.

Transfer Essentials: (1.5 hours) Offered at all 8 main campuses, both Fall and Spring semesters. This session’s focus is on general transfer information as well as the fundamentals of the transfer process.

Getting Interactive: (1.5 hours) Offered at 4 campuses, rotating in the Fall and Spring semesters. This is an interactive session with area university representatives. This panel-style discussion will give you the opportunity to ask questions directly to representatives.

Tour de Transfer: (whole day) One bus visiting 2 universities, rotating in the Fall and Spring semesters.
This full-day session will have us on the road visiting area universities such as; The University of Texas at Austin, Southwestern University, Texas State University-San Marcos, and St. Edward’s University. You will get a walking tour and condensed information session at each university along with lunch!

Special Topic Workshops: (1 hour) Offered at various campuses.
These workshops will cover various transfer topics such as; financial aid, transfer application writing, online transfer resources, and much more.
