Texas State University:
Change in ACC Statistics requirements for Majors requiring QMST 2333
Beginning Fall 2006, BUSG 2371, Business Statistics will satisfy QMST 2333 at Texas State. MATH 1342 and will no longer satisfy QMST 2333. For those students who previously took Math 1342, Elementary Statistics at ACC, Texas State will handle their request for transfer on a case-by-case basis. These students will need to apply for a course substitution in the CIS and QM department office (McCoy 404) and provide them with a current course syllabus for their records.
Texas State CIS/Quantitative Methods Department Chair stated that effective immediately, students should NOT be advised to take Math 1342 to transfer as QMST 2333. They will no longer accept Math 1342 as an equivalent to QMST 2333 if students were enrolled in that course after fall 2006. Students completing Math 1342 by December 2006 will be eligible for the transfer but these students will have to request the course substitution manually as described above.
Beginning Spring 2006, BUSG 2371 only will satisfy QMST 2333. At that point, MATH 1342 can not be substituted.
