2011 Learning Labs College-wide Tutor Conference

The Learning Lab Managers will host their annual tutor training conference, Success by Design: a Collaborative Approach to Student Retention, at the Eastview campus on February 18, 2011. We are honored that our President and CEO, Dr. Stephen Kinslow, will deliver the opening remarks for the conference. We expect 250 learning lab tutors to attend this all-day event.

The conference offers 35 breakout sessions by 47 faculty presenters, representing many College disciplines, such as Biology, History, Mathematics, ESOL, Developmental Writing, English, Speech, Statistics, and Chemistry. Many of the sessions address course-specific content areas and program innovations while others aim to provide tutors relevant information about specific populations, effective tutoring strategies, and insight into Student Success Initiatives underway at the college.

This collegial professional development day allows for each tutor’s advancement towards tutor training certification.
