Introduction to Philosophy, PHIL 1301
Orientation Information

Rather than attending the on-campus orientation you may choose to email me the information requested below. By agreeing to do the orientation by email, you are saying that you have read and understood all aspects of the course, in deadlines, and thus if you come up and say "I didn't know I was supposed to do that," I will ignore your pleas for leniency. The information contained on this web site is identical to what I pass out during the campus orientation. I would print a copy of all the important information, especially the assignments page, contained on the class web site. If you have questions please do not hesitate to either email .

IMPORTANT: When I receive the orientation information from you I will email back a confirmation within two to three business days. You have not officially completed your orientation until you receive my confirmation - please retain the confirmation for your records. You should save my confirmation until the end of the semester or if you have not heard from me within two to three business days, resend your orientation information. If you have not completed the orientation by the deadline, you will be penalized ten points on your final grade - no exceptions. Also, orientation information received before the start date will not be accepted.

Important: It is your RESPONSIBILITY to know the information contained on our class web site. By completing this form you are confirming that you have read and understood the course requirements, deadlines, etc.

Please email me all the following information:

1. name
2. mailing address (include zip code)
3. phone number where you can be reached if necessary
4. email address
5. student ID number
6. your major (if known)
7. total number of college hours (if known)
8. at which campus you will most likely take your exams?
9. are you also enrolled at another college or university?

Please list each requested piece of information on a separate line. My email address is ursery@austincc.edu.

The sooner you complete the orientation the better. Getting behind in this course is usually fatal.
