EDWINA FREDLUND TRAVERSO SCHOLARSHIP

Purpose: The Edwina Fredlund Traverso Scholarship aims to reward academic achievement, recognize individual accomplishment, and assist deserving students to complete the course work for the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Visual Communication.

Eligibility: Applicants must be Austin Community College Visual Communication majors who have completed 18 hours of Visual Communication course work and have at least 9 credit hours of Visual Communication remaining to complete their Associate of Applied Science in Visual Communication.

Deadline: Application, all supporting documents and art work must be submitted to the Visual Communication Department, Northridge Campus, Room 4260, no later than 2:00 p.m. on the third Friday in April.

Requirements: Applicants must supply
• Three letters of recommendation
• A short essay
• A financial statement, (fill out the General Scholarship Application form)
• A portfolio of 3 to 5 original illustrations and/or comprehensive layouts. (Video of animation or computer animation may be submitted as part of the portfolio requirement).

Jurors: Three faculty members of the Visual Communication Department will review all the applications and decide the scholarship award.

Process: The scholarship committee will review all materials submitted. Applicants will be judged on financial need, (as determined by ACC's Financial Aid Office), creativity, professionalism, and production skills. Finalist must be maintaining satisfactory progress toward a AAS Degree.

General scholarship application forms can be obtained at the Financial Aid Office at Northridge, Bldg. 1000, during working hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

  Ben Clough Endowed Scholarship
Visual Communication

Purpose: This scholarship is available to students enrolled in the Visual Communication Department at Austin Community College.
The scholarship may be used for tuition, books and supplies, including software and hardware.

Eligibility: Students must have successfully completed one of these introductory courses prior to receiving the scholarship:
• ARTC 1413 Digital Publishing I
• ARTC 1305 Basic Graphic Design
• ARTC 1409 Basic Illustration
• ARTC 1402 Digital Imaging I

Deadline: June 1

Requirements: Overall GPA of 2.5 in college work.
Register and successfully complete the degree or certificate program requirements each semester during the award. See the degree & certificates page.
Students must have declared their major area of study to be in Visual Communication.

Financial need as determined by ACC's Financial Aid office.

Didi Stuart Endowed Scholarship in the Graphic Arts

The number of awards and the dollar amount of each award will be based on the funds available. The award may only be used toward a degree or certificate in Visual Communication.

Requirements: Student(s) selected to receive an award will be required to meet the following criteria:
• Student must have completed 16 hours toward a degree or 12 hours toward a certificate in Visual Communication.
• Overall 3.0 GPA.
• Enroll in and successfully complete a minimum of 6 hours each semester while on scholarship.
• Financial need as determined by ACC's Financial Aid Office.
• To apply, you must complete ACC's General Scholarship Application and return it to any ACC Financial Aid Office.
