Success in Calculus I
It has been my experience that students who do not
have fresh, working knowledge of algebra and trigonometry concepts and
techniques do not do well in Calculus I.
If you question your readiness to take Calculus I, look at Review #1 and
Review #2 for the type of problems I assume you can answer. If the review exercises are not relatively
easy to solve, consider taking MATH 1314 College Algebra, MATH 1316
Trigonometry, and MATH 2412 Precalculus. While a Precalculus
course is a necessary prerequisite of this course, it may not be sufficient if
you do not have a current knowledge the skills needed.
You also need to plan on spending several hours each
week working problems. Do not overload
your schedule and expect to pass.
