Webmaster Program for Kids - Summer 2013
Students will learn how to build simple web pages and publish them on the Web in the first class. In the follow up classes they will learn how to make their pages fun, how to include professional looking images and make pages interactive. Participants qualify for an educational discount on the software used in the classes (visit www.academicsuperstore.com or www.journeyed.com). Most software used also has a 30-day free trial available (see www.adobe.com/products) and a month-to-month subscription service (www.adobe.com/creativecloud). The classes are open to kids of all ages.
Prerequisites for all courses: Students must be familiar with the keyboard and mouse, able to type and follow instructions. All students and a parent/guardian must schedule an appointment with the coordinator for program orientation at least 2 weeks before the first day of the class. Call 223-7588.

ITNW 3001 Introduction to Web Pages

Students will create and design their own web pages. In this hands-on course, students will build simple pages with hypertext links and graphics. The course includes instructions on protecting personal information when publishing on the Web.

ITNW 3002 Dreamweaver Quick Start

Dreamweaver is an editing and site creation tool used to manage entire web sites. Students will learn how to create web sites using the top web publishing software. Prerequisites: Introduction to Web Pages course or equivalent experience.

ITNW 3003 Photoshop Quick Start
9 hours; tution: $99.00
This hands-on class will introduce students to Adobe Photoshop – the tool most professional designers use for creating cool web graphics. They will learn how to improve bad photos, realistically remove people and objects from photos, optimize web graphics for fast downloads, make a web photo gallery, and create animations.

Macromedia Flash marks the end of the static web page! Students will learn how to create online animation and use interactivity to build dynamic web pages and applications including a slide show, an MP3 jukebox, and a video player.
