To Begin These Courses:

Please contact Greg Hervey at ghervey@austincc.edu on the first day of the online class with your email address and the name of the course for which you are registered. He will verify your enrollment and provide you with initial course entry procedures and specific requirements. Because the primary framework for instruction is the Internet, you must have convenient access to the Internet and your own email account. You will use these to access instructional materials, email the instructor, participate in discussions, and use any online library resources. If any of these are new to you, please familiarize yourself before you start the class. There are no required books for the following online classes. Optional books are listed at each class website.

Software Requirments

Please use a current version of Firefox or Safari to access the class website (a browser other than Internet Explorer is REQUIRED for both Dreamweaver classes).

For the Web Design and Usability class you need an image-editing program such as Fireworks or Photoshop**.

For the Photoshop classes you need a recent* version of Adobe Photoshop**. (The free 30-day demo version at www.adobe.com will suffice, but if you use it before the class begins, it may expire before you complete the course!)

For the Flash class you will need a fully functioning, recent* version of Adobe Flash** (the free 30-day demo version at www.adobe.com will suffice, but if you install it before the class begins, it may expire before you complete the course).

*Online classes are written to support the two most recent versions of software; older versions may have significant limitations that prevent you from completing the assignments, or interface differences that make it impossible to follow the directions.

**Enrolled students qualify for educational discounts on Adobe software; proof of enrollment is required. Visit also our Instructor's Tips page
