The Level Up program gives eligible adult learners a boost by providing tuition and academic support as they pursue Occupational Skills Awards in in-demand career fields.

Eligibility

Prospective students must meet the following criteria to participate in the Level Up program:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must be a Texas resident (living in Texas for at least 12 months)
  • Must reside within the ACC Service Area
  • Must NOT be on an F, B, or J visa
  • Must NOT be TSI complete (if complete in one area, that is OK)
  • Must NOT have a college degree from the US (college degree from another country is OK)
  • ESL students ONLY: must have completed ESL 4

Step 1 - Application

The first step is to complete a Career Pathways application, and to attend your selected orientation event. During the orientation event, you will learn more about the program and take an assessment test that will last 1-2 hours.

Step 2 - Registration

As a new Level Up student, you will select an Occupational Skills Award (OSA) to pursue from the list of eligible programs below. The Level Up coordinator will work with you to complete the remainder of the registration process. The cost of your entire OSA, including required textbooks/equipment for each course, will be paid for by Career Pathways. Applying for and utilizing federal financial aid funds will not impact your eligibility for this program. ACC students are also eligible for a FREE Capital Metro Green Pass.

Step 3 - Study, Sleep, Class, Repeat!

While in the Level Up program, you are responsible for:

  • checking your ACC email regularly (once per day is recommended)
  • responding to all communications from your program coordinator
  • arriving to/joining class on time
  • active participation in your class(es)
  • completing your assignments according to deadlines
  • attending support classes/workshops

If you are unable to meet these requirements, you may be ineligible to continue in the program.
