ACC offers Distance Learning for English as a Second Language (ESL) students who need flexible options for attending class. 

Application and Registration

Apply for the ESL Distance Learning programs just as you would for traditional classes.  At registration, you will be able to choose from Live Online Classes to take class from anywhere, DL Flex classes which allow flexible class hours, or the option to use Online Self-Study Tools to enhance your learning.

Distance Learning Coaching: In person help when you need it

Attend DL coaching during the scheduled times at the Highland Campus ACCelerator (look for Zone 4) where Adult Education staff are there to help you get started with ESL classes and provide guidance along the way.

DL Coaches assist with:

  • Claiming ACCeID
  • Claiming ACCmail
  • Getting MetroCap Green Pass and Parking Permit
  • Enrolling in Distance Learning classes
  • Registering for GED and HISET tests
  • Learning basic computer skills
  • ...And more!

Prospective Students

Live Online Class: It’s as easy as 1 - 2 - 3…

  1. Attend the first class session for orientation and the last class session for progress testing in person (face-to-face) on campus.

  2. Join the Live Online class every week at the scheduled time from any computer.

  3. Complete additional required online hours per week independently using provided self-study software at any time that is convenient for you from your home, a library, or an ACC computer lab.
