Professional Nursing

The professional nursing program at Austin Community College trains students to become an integral part of the health care community. Registered nurses provide health promotion, maintenance, and restoration for patients and their families. You’ll learn skills based on theory, practice, research, facts, and concepts of biological, social, physical and behavioral sciences. Upon completion, experienced faculty will have you ready to provide and coordinate care in a variety of settings, or transfer credits to a bachelor’s degree in nursing at ACC.

  • Registered Nurses

    Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. Licensing or registration required.
