Value Statement

The Austin Community College District Library Services maintains circulation guidelines to provide maximum availability of its resources to ACC borrowers.

Administrative Rule

Circulating materials are available for checkout to authorized borrowers for standard periods.  Some collections, such as the Reserve Collection or Reference Collection, have limited circulation based on particular circumstances.

Authorized borrowers include ACC students, faculty and staff, as well as other approved categories of users.  Verification of borrower status to circulate materials is required.

Borrowers are responsible for returning materials on time and in good condition to avoid paying overdue fines, replacement costs, and/or processing fees.  Abuse of borrower privileges may result in the loss of those privileges and/or other appropriate actions including student record holds and/or legal remedies.

ACC borrowers participating in a reciprocal borrowing agreement with other libraries must resolve outstanding obligations promptly to avoid possible loss of privileges and/or other appropriate actions including student record holds and/or legal remedies.

Guidelines and procedures related to circulation loan periods and schedules of fines, and fees are developed by the Library Services Leadership Team and approved by the Dean of Library Services and the Associate Vice President of Instructional Resources and Technology.
