Value Statement

Employees are a valuable resource to our students, other employees and the public. New employees will participate in an orientation program on the College’s history, policies, procedures, and other valuable information to enable the employee to be successful in their job duties and carrying out the mission of the College.

Administrative Rule

All new staffing table employees and Adjunct Faculty are required to attend or participate in a New Employee Orientation program within the first thirty (30) days of the employee’s hire date.

Hourly employees are required to complete ACC’s online orientation within the first five (5) days of employment.

An employee who leaves the College and then returns within one year may be required to attend orientation.

Responsibilities

  1. The Office of Human Resources is responsible for the initial New Employee Orientation and benefits program and onboarding new employees. The orientation program should be comprehensive and multi-faceted and introduce new employees to the history, culture, mission of the College, and provide other valuable information.
  2. The Office of Teaching & Learning Excellence Division (TLED) may develop and/or assist with the orientation and onboarding activities of new faculty to the College.
  3. The immediate supervisor is responsible for new employee orientation regarding campus location, job duties, working hours, safety, College resources, departmental procedures, and College policies and procedures.
